Rhine cycling way from Cologne to Mainz

On the left bank of the Rhine the way from Cologne to Mainz offers cycling along the Rhine without any ascents which makes it perfect for every cyclist. Apart from a few exceptions you constantly ride parallel to the Rhine and enjoy the Rhine Romanticism. Depending on your level of fitness you can put your route together following your personal taste. On your way you pass many famous castles along the middle Rhine like Drachenfels, Ehrenbreitstein or Castle Rheinfels. Other attractions are the German Corner in Koblenz or the Loreley in St. Goar.

Besides the classic cycling tours Boppard offers a special highlight for mountain bikers in the local forest. The Boppard Bikepark there defines cycling along the Rhine completely new. Already in 2006 it was awarded with the silver star of sports in Berlin and is meanwhile known mountain bike enthusiasts all over the country.
