Located in the middle of the city, the new Middle Rhine Museum presents itself central and close in futuristic brilliance. Within walking distance from the historical centre, the Koblenz Palace, the German Corner and the Cable Car Koblenz and has reopened in 2013.

The new and opulent created exhibition areas of the Middle Rhine Museum offer space for permanent and special exhibitions. The Middle Rhine Museum focuses on a collection of paintings as well as the sculptural and handcrafted portfolio of Koblenz. To this count medieval sculptures and paintings from the Middle Ages with a special view on the castles at the Rhine. Further more you can find representatives of the Dusseldorf school up to Classic modernism. Particularly worth mentioning are the works of Götz, Rissa and Heijo Hangen.

The Middle Rhine Museum in Koblenz emphasizes on regional art and historico-cultural goods. By that it offers the region a great scenery to present itself. 400 paintings, 50 sculptures, 60 graphic arts and miscellaneous handcrafted objects are waiting for the visitors. Changing special exhibitions with a wide spectrum complete the museum`s offer.

Opening hours and interesting facts

Opened all year round the Middle Rhine Museum Koblenz is closed on Mondays. Guided tours for interested groups can be planned in advance or directly on site. The parking situation can be considered as very comfortable thanks to the many parking garages in the city.
