Cable Car Koblenz

Great view on the German Corner

To the horticultural show in Koblenz the ropeway was built between the plateau of the German Corner and the fortress Ehrenbreitstein. With one of the highest capacities of about 7600 persons per hour it was constructed under the purpose of an environmentally friendly connection between the main attractions on different sides of the Rhine. The cable car Koblenz travels almost 850 Meter on its way and offers a spectacular view on the concourse of Rhine and Mosel through the large windows of the panorama cabins.

On the high plateau upon the district Ehrenbreitstein, visitors can find a lot of attractive things. Besides the beautiful gardens from the horticultural show, there is a comprehensive gastronomic offer, the Landesmuseum, further exhibition areas and of course the fortress Ehrenbreitstein itself. Through the building of the cable car Koblenz, the formerly biggest fortress among the castles on the Rhine is now connected directly with the city centre.

From the foot of the cable car Koblenz it is only a short walk to the popular “German Corner”, which is, together with the Loreley, one of the most famous landmarks of the region. The adjoining and picturesque historic city with its contorted alleys invites you to an unhurriedly walk among the fascinating buildings.
